Pulaski golf carts proposal goes downhill

Callaway FT-5 September 8th, 2008

Allowing golf carts in Pulaski would have of course saved people money in gas, but in the end, would have cost the town more.

Patricia Weeks and Heather O’Dell proposed the idea to council.

They even posted petitions around town to rally support.

On Tuesday, council members took the proposal off the table.

They say a traffic study alone would cost about $1,000 a street and that’s more money than the town has available.

Fore! Golf carts to join city traffic

Callaway FT-5 September 8th, 2008

Deer Park city streets will get a little more crowded after the Deer Park City Council approved a plan to make golf carts a legal form of municipal transportation.

The council approved the plan last week by a 3-1 vote (Councilwoman Dee Cragun dissenting and Councilman Randy Bean absent from the meeting).

Under the guidelines, the electric golf carts (gas powered carts are still illegal) cannot go any faster than 25 mph and must be operated by a person with a valid driver’s license. The number of people allowed to ride in the cart will be limited by the manufacturer’s guidelines for the vehicle.

The carts cannot be operated on Main Street or Crawford Avenue except at intersections to cross from one side to the other. Those without state-approved lighting systems cannot run between 30 minutes before sunset until 30 minutes before the next sunrise.

Some city councilmembers tried to eliminate the need for seatbelts on the vehicle, but state law prohibits municipalities from waiving the requirement. The carts will also have to adhere to child safety seat rules.

Callaway FT-5 Driver Great Club for men & women

Callaway FT-5 July 20th, 2008

FT-5 9* Draw stiff, I have purchased numerous drivers over the last two years and none of them where Callaway clubs until recently. My spouse started using FT-3 draw HT 16* her drive and her distance improved dramatically and she was hitting more fairway and if she missed it was usually in the left rough. I always thought she was losing distance because the flight of the ball was to high and 2* degree closed was too much of a draw. So we purchase FT-5 Draw 13*, with this club her distance improved even more and she has a nice draw on her ball most of the time and is hitting even more fairways. We still thought the ball flight was still a littleo high so we purchased another FT-5 Draw 11*. Her distance even improved more and her flight of her ball is more boring and has more roll and she hardly ever misses the fairways. I was so impressed with her result I had to try these Callaway clubs.

I purchased the X460 (face to closed). FT-3 tour and finally the FT-5, I like all these clubs better then the TaylorMade R7 460., Cleveland Hibore XL and the Mac Tec 435 that I own. The FT-5 is more forgiving and is longer than all of these clubs. The forgiveness and accuracy for me are more important then the additional distance. The more I have used this club the more I am loving the FT-5. I am hitting fewer slices and I am enjoying more 2nd shots from the fairway. By far the best driver I have owned.
