A golf cart’s governor keeps the vehicle from going too fast. Golf carts can become damaged, and have a higher propensity to flip over, without a factory functioning governor. On the other hand, you can’t cruise around with a golf cart whose governor has been left to its initial setting. You should be careful before turning a golf cart into a higher speed vehicle, but it can be a lot of fun if you know how to handle it.
